I think this has been a noticeable change for some time now, and it’ll be interesting to see how marketers respond to this shift. I am definitely still one of those people who is by their e-mail all the time though, for work and for blog notifications (livejournal, tumblr, wordpress, etc).

Interesting points. I think environmental friendliness is so often dumbed down that we automatically assume that reusable/recyclable is better than consumption (or reducing! people often forget it’s reduce, then reuse, then recycle).
